Silver Lining Placement Agency
Our founder Kathee Grgich has guided over 300 families through life's most unexpected transitions, with kindness, honesty, and unwavering faith. Senior placement services are provided at no cost to your family. We are here to help.
"We come alongside families when they need it most. I love guiding people to get the place they need within their budget."
Kathee Grgich, FounderYou do not need to become an expert in senior care. That is exactly what we are here for.
You call or text Kathee and tell us what is going on. We listen deeply, no signed agreements, no jargon, no forms, no pressure. We ask about your loved one's health, personality, budget, and where they want to be near. One real conversation changes everything.
We hand-select three to five homes from the hundreds we have personally visited across the greater Sacramento area. Then we go with you. We know which homes can be trusted and what questions to ask. You are never alone on a tour.
Once we find the right spot, we help coordinate everything — movers, in-home care partners, hospice, and whatever else your family needs. We stay available long after move-in day, because this is not a transaction to us.
Whether a skilled nursing facility or hospital discharge is coming in 48 hours or your loved one needs care soon, we move fast.
With trusted referral partners, we often find wonderful, budget-friendly homes and facilities quickly. This placement service is available at no cost to you and your family. We are ready to help today.
Maybe the hospital just called with a discharge date. Maybe you have been watching your parent struggle at home and cannot keep pretending everything is fine. Maybe you are exhausted from carrying this quietly for too long.
We have walked alongside so many families in exactly this moment. With the right guidance, this transition can happen with dignity, love, and peace.
My name is Kathee Grgich, and I founded Silver Lining because I genuinely believe I am called to serve people in their most vulnerable moments. We have seen too many families face this transition without anyone truly in their corner, and it breaks my heart every time.
My journey into this work started during my years as a Community Service Officer with the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office. A woman walked in holding a cardboard box filled with envelopes she thought were unpaid bills. They were solicitations. No one had been protecting her. That moment never left me.
After years in in-home caregiving and working as a placement specialist inside a larger agency, I knew we could serve families better on our own terms, without corporate quotas, without pressure, and with our whole hearts. So in 2025, Silver Lining was born.
Outside of helping others through major life transitions, I am also a mom of four boys and a grandma to seven wonderful grandchildren. My husband and I love going on adventures together, and I bring that same adventurous spirit to finding the right home for every family we serve.
Not sure what level of care your loved one needs? Let us help you figure it out together, with no cost senior placement services.
Larger community-style living with activities, dining, and daily support staff. We know which assisted living communities truly deliver on their promises, and which ones fall short.
Specialized care for dementia and Alzheimer's. We know the difference between a facility built for memory care and one that simply added a locked wing. We will always guide your family toward the real thing.
Licensed homes of up to six residents with dedicated caregivers always present. More personal, home-cooked, familiar. Often the most loving environment for someone who needs a quieter setting.
Short-term rehab after a hospital stay. We help families understand what Medicare and Medi-Cal actually cover and how to plan for the next transition before the discharge date sneaks up on them.
For loved ones who want to stay in their own home. We refer trusted, licensed in-home care agencies we know personally and can help you understand the realistic cost.
When comfort and dignity become the priority, we connect families with compassionate hospice partners we trust completely. Every family deserves to walk through this transition with grace.
We receive calls from families in every kind of situation. Some have three days before a hospital discharge. Some are just beginning to see that their parent needs more help than they can give. Some have been carrying this quietly for years.
Wherever you are in this journey, we meet you exactly there. No judgment. No pressure. Just honest, faithful guidance.
We have personally visited and vetted hundreds of care homes across five Northern California counties. Click your county below to see all the communities we serve.
Frequently Asked Questions
We receive a commission from the care community where your loved one is placed, but only after the placement is working well. Our interests line up perfectly with yours. If it is not the right fit, we do not get paid. So you can trust we are always finding the best fit, not the highest price.
No, and we hear this question often. We stay within your budget, always. We have seen too many families stretched into a placement they could not sustain, and it creates more heartbreak than anyone needed. That is not how we work, and it never will be.
Absolutely not. Families never sign anything with us. We earn your trust through what we do. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you honestly and point you somewhere better. That is just how we operate.
Yes. We work with families across every financial situation. We know which homes accept Medi-Cal, how CalAIM works, and how to navigate state programs most families have never heard of. We will be completely honest with you about what is possible. Everyone deserves dignity in their care.
Assisted living is a larger community with many residents, organized activities, and multiple staff. A residential care home is a licensed private home with up to six residents and dedicated caregivers always present. The care ratio is much higher, meals are home-cooked, and for many seniors it simply feels more like home. We help you figure out which fits your loved one best.
Yes. Hospital and skilled nursing discharge situations are most of what we do. We can schedule tours within 24 to 48 hours and have relationships with hundreds of vetted facilities across the region. We work fast without cutting corners on quality.
Whether you have days to act or months to plan, we are ready to help your family. Our service is completely free to you. We are paid only when your loved one is safely and happily settled in a home that truly fits.
