If you are looking for senior care guidance in Yolo County, whether in Woodland, Davis, West Sacramento, or the quieter communities throughout the valley, we are here. Our service is completely free and we will guide you personally through every step.
You do not need to become an expert in senior care. That is exactly what we are here for.
You call or text Kathee and tell us what is going on. We listen deeply, no signed agreements, no jargon, no pressure. We ask about your loved one's health, personality, budget, and where they want to be near.
We hand-select three to five homes from the hundreds we have personally visited across the greater Sacramento area. Then we go with you. We know which homes can be trusted and what questions to ask.
Once we find the right spot, we help coordinate everything — movers, in-home care partners, hospice, and whatever else your family needs. We stay available long after move-in day.
Yolo County has a wonderful mix of urban and rural communities, each with its own character and senior care resources. Woodland and Davis have several assisted living communities and residential care homes we know well.
Families in Yolo County sometimes worry they have fewer options than in larger counties. In our experience, that concern is not always accurate. With our guidance, we can find the right fit regardless of where you are starting.
Wherever your loved one ends up, we want them in a place that truly feels like home. The geography matters less than the quality of care and the spirit of the people providing it.
We proudly serve families throughout Yolo County and all surrounding communities.
Not sure what level of care your loved one needs? Let us help you figure it out with no cost placement services.
Larger community-style living with activities, dining, and daily support staff. We know which assisted living communities truly deliver on their promises in Yolo County.
Specialized care for dementia and Alzheimer's. We know the difference between a facility built for memory care and one that simply added a locked wing.
Licensed homes of up to six residents with dedicated caregivers always present. More personal, home-cooked, familiar. Often the most loving environment for a quieter setting.
Short-term rehab after a hospital stay. We help families understand what Medicare and Medi-Cal cover and how to plan for the next transition.
For loved ones who want to stay in their own home. We refer trusted, licensed in-home care agencies we know personally in and around Yolo County.
When comfort and dignity become the priority, we connect families with compassionate hospice partners we trust completely. Every family deserves grace in this transition.
My name is Kathee Grgich, and I founded Silver Lining because I genuinely believe I am called to serve people in their most vulnerable moments. We have seen too many families face this transition without anyone truly in their corner, and it breaks my heart every time.
My journey into this work started during my years as a Community Service Officer with the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office. A woman walked in holding a cardboard box filled with envelopes she thought were unpaid bills. They were solicitations. No one had been protecting her. That moment never left me.
After years in in-home caregiving and working as a placement specialist inside a larger agency, I knew we could serve families better on our own terms, without corporate quotas, without pressure, and with our whole hearts. So in 2025, Silver Lining was born.
Outside of helping others through major life transitions, I am also a mom of four boys and a grandma to seven wonderful grandchildren. My husband and I love going on adventures together, and I bring that same spirit to finding the right home for every family we serve.
Frequently Asked Questions
We receive a commission from the care community where your loved one is placed, but only after the placement is working well. Our interests line up perfectly with yours. If it is not the right fit, we do not get paid. So you can trust we are always finding the best fit, not the highest price.
No, and we hear this question often. We stay within your budget, always. We have seen too many families stretched into a placement they could not sustain. That is not how we work, and it never will be.
Absolutely not. Families never sign anything with us. We earn your trust through what we do. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you honestly and point you somewhere better.
Yes. We work with families across every financial situation. We know which homes accept Medi-Cal, how CalAIM works, and how to navigate state programs most families have never heard of. Everyone deserves dignity in their care.
Assisted living is a larger community with many residents and multiple staff. A residential care home is a licensed private home with up to six residents and dedicated caregivers always present. The care ratio is much higher, meals are home-cooked, and for many seniors it feels more like home. We help you figure out which fits your loved one best.
Yes. We can schedule tours within 24 to 48 hours and have relationships with hundreds of vetted facilities across the region. We work fast without cutting corners on quality.
